Alexandra King
Alex has extensive experience in conducting food security assessments and training exercises, in rural, urban and refugee contexts, using Household Economy Analysis. With FEG she has completed assignments for a variety of organizations over the last nine years in Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Somaliland, Rwanda, the DRC, Liberia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe); the Balkans (Kosovo, Serbia and Macedonia); in Asia (Cambodia and Tajikistan) and in the West Bank. Before helping to form FEG she worked as Food Security Advisor in Save the Children UK’s East and Central Africa Regional Office. She also has experience in the management of development projects and in emergency response, as a Program Manager for OXFAM UK in South Sudan and as an Emergency Field Officer for UNICEF in Liberia. Alex holds both Irish and British passports, has an academic background in development economics and food security, and speaks French.
