Facilitating Complex Processes for Change
FEG’s expertise in facilitating and managing complex program design processes can help organizations navigate through and hurdle large program design and implementation obstacles. Below are a few examples of FEG’s accomplishments.
Productive Safety Nets Program (PSNP) – Ethiopia
FEG coordinated and guided a consensus-building process of the design and implementation mechanism for the Productive Safety Nets Program. FEG facilitated the clarification of donor positions and priorities on specific issues within the design process and assisted stakeholders to develop an agreed common design framework between the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) the GoE-led Multi Donor Technical Design Group, and heads of implementing agencies.
Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) – Kenya
FEG’s role in the development of the PRRO consisted of coordinating the verifying program coherence with Government of Kenya (GoK) main programs (Arid Lands Resource Management Program (ALRMP), Drought Contingency Fund, etc) and partner donor agencies’ strategic initiatives (WB, DFID Hunger Safety Net Program [HSNP], ECHO and EC support to DMI, USAID RELPA, etc). This work led to recommendations for practical modalities to improve coordination and working relationships between key stakeholders on major opportunities for joint efforts.
